Chris has been building in and about the Byron Shire for over 15 years now. Building is all about experience, and people.

Chris King Constructions has built everything from rustic studios, to architectural homes and commercial properties. Throw in endless decks, renovations, extensions, sauna’s and Queenslanders. We love working with timber, old and new, but we will have a go at any customisation you can think of!

Through a stringent screening process and a lot of help from the building gods, Chris has managed to build a team of awesome carpenters and, more importantly, really great people. We take pride in the quality of our work, and we do a whole lot of caring…about the job at hand, our environment, the state of our job site, each other, and of course our clients and their desires. We all enjoy what we do, where we live, and we like to have a bit of fun along the way.

All materials and tradespeople are sourced through local channels wherever possible and we value these relationships highly.

The Church Farm Billinudgel 2014-2017

Church Farm. This original Billinudgel church has been through a few stages of transformation (after its time as a house of the lord) to accomodate floods, and a growing family. We built 2 bedrooms and a mezzanine firstly, then spent weeks removing the old horsehair plaster from the ceilings, lifting them, and replacing with VJ boards. Most recently, the whole church was lifted a meter and a half, decks and stairs built right around, and a garage and spare bed and bathroom built under. We love it!

Brunswick Heads Commercial and Residential 2018

Brunswick Heads Commercial and Residence Build. We have almost completed this new build in Brunswick heads, along with Andrew Swain productions. A traditional street front building with shops downstairs and a pair of apartments upstairs, and a modern timber residence out the back for a young family.

The client was able to beautifully express her warm, simple whitewash and timber palette…

Coopers Shoot Pavillion 2015

Coopers Shoot. This beautiful natural pool was missing one thing, a pool house and studio to sit by it! We even took on the task of building all windows and a set of steel bifold doors ourselves.
